"Waiting On" Wednesday
"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.
For this week, I am eagerly anticipating -
Throne of Glass - Sarah J. Maas
August 7, 2012
"After serving out a year of hard labor in the salt mines of Endovier for her crimes, 18-year-old assassin Celaena Sardothien is dragged before the Crown Prince. Prince Dorian offers her her freedom on one condition: she must act as his champion in a competition to find a new royal assassin.
Her opponents are men—thieves and assassins and warriors from across the empire, each sponsored by a member of the kings council. If she beats her opponents in a series of eliminations, she’ll serve the kingdom for three years and then be granted her freedom.
Celaena finds her training sessions with the captain of the guard, Westfall, challenging and exhilarating. But she’s bored stiff by court life. Things get a little more interesting when the prince starts to show interest in her... but it’s the gruff Captain Westfall who seems to understand her best.
Then one of the other contestants turns up dead... quickly followed by another. Can Celaena figure out who the killer is before she becomes a victim? As the young assassin investigates, her search leads her to discover a greater destiny than she could possibly have imagined."
I have read the three novella's that have been released so far - and I can't WAIT to find out what happens in the Throne of Glass. I am also desperately waiting for the fourth novella to see how the story is all going to tie in together! Plus, how awesome is the cover? Serious cover-love going on here! <3

Valery •The Book Of Owl's Im a new blogger so please feel free of leaving any advice or recommendation!
I've read the first novella so far. I'm going to redeem a $5 Amazon GC (via Swagbucks) so I can grab the next ones. :) I'm so, so looking forward to reading THRONE OF GLASS! I've already expressed my interest in it on my blog, as well as to Bloomsbury. :P HOW GOOD DOES IT SOUND? Also, I just love that Sarah has been working on this story for so long and has this alternative journey, with Fictionpress. I like the cover, but I've heard lots of people who read Queen of Glass (back when it was called that, on FP) were disappointed with all of it.
ReplyDeleteJust, yeah. I've been following this release for a while now, it's been right up there (with Insurgent, Bitterblue and some contemps and debuts) in terms of how much I've been anticipating it. It pains me that I've been declined by Netgalley. I'd be better with my request:review ratio if I had an e-reader. :/ Anyway, GREAT pick this week! Just hopping through the Linky.
I have a copy of this from Netgalley that I am about to read! I can't wait! Great choice! Here's my WOW: http://ya-sisterhood.blogspot.com/2012/05/waiting-on-wednesday-darkness-before.html
