Day Four - Beyond the Blog!

Today we are talking about writing and all the different aspects involved. We are sharing tips for getting beyond our blogs. There are few questions that were posted for discussion -

Have you done any freelance writing?

I have not! I have never really thought of myself as a writer, and even now I still don't. I was never overly fabulous at English in school. I enjoy writing reviews. Can't say I am overly good at even them, but I enjoy it. I wish I had real writing talent, like I have seen in so many people. But I don't and I am okay with it. I'll leave that to the experts.

Are you monetizing your blog and how so?

I suppose this is a yes and no question. I tried to sign up for AdSense with Google when I first started, but got rejected. I decided to give it 6 or so months before I tried again, after I had built up my blog. As it turns out, Web Ads contacted me and asked me to sign up, so I did. I have the "advertise here" html on my blog, but so far I have earned nada. To be honest, I didn't really expect to, so no disappointment there!

Share a fun aspect about your blog or life that may be completely separate from books!

Since I couldn't really answer the third question, I thought I would answer this one! Although, even this one is hard. Books have become so entwined in my life, that it is hard to separate them. I read a lot for my blog, I read a lot for uni, I read cook books and travel books. When I sat down to write this, I thought "that's easy!" but it really isn't anymore. But a randomly fun thing in my life that isn't book related, is I love to bake. All sorts of sweet goodies! Yummmmmmmm!

Be sure to come back tomorrow for the last day, Day Five - The Future of Book Blogging!

  3. It's not that easy to make a lot of money if you're not huge and have more ad space :/ I've been thinking about it, but I dunno. I'm currently stuck on the affiliate links only!

Baking is awesome! I like that too. Haha, I so get what you mean with book influencing your life a lot!
