The Goddess Legacy (Goddess Test #2.5) -
Aimee Carter
July 31, 2012

"For millennia we've caught only glimpses of the lives and loves of the gods and goddesses on Olympus. Now Aimée Carter pulls back the curtain on how they became the powerful, petty, loving and dangerous immortals that Kate Winters knows.

Calliope/Hera represented constancy and yet had a husband who never matched her faithfulness...

Ava/Aphrodite was the goddess of love and yet commitment was a totally different deal...

Persephone was urged to marry one man, yet longed for another...

James/Hermes loved to make trouble for others-but never knew true loss before...

Henry/Hades's solitary existence had grown too wearisome to continue. But meeting Kate Winters gave him a new hope...

Five original novellas of love, loss and longing and the will to survive throughout the ages."

If your a fan of the Goddess Test series, then you will love this book as much as the others. It was truly interesting to see into the back stories of some of the main characters in the series! Five novella's, delving into the past of these characters, where we learn just how they got to be the way they are.

Firstly, we read Hera's story. We see how she was always in love with Hades, how Zeus proves to her that he is the one she should marry, and how his deceit will affect her for eons to come.

Then we learn about Aphrodite. How she is arranged to marry Hephaestus but is in love with Ares. How it takes a slight deception for her to realise that her arranged marriage was right all along.

Persephone's story was the one I was most excited about, and it didn't disappoint. She is forced into marrying Hades, and trapped in the Underworld. We learn more about her affair with James, and how she ends up dead in the Underworld with Adonis.

We learn a little bit more about Hermes as he struggles to cope with the aftermath of Persephone giving up her immortality for a mortal. We see him find a family he truly fits in with, only to have it snatched away.

Lastly, we see how Hades came to the decision to fade. How Diana decided to find him another queen, and how Kate comes into his life.

If there are certain parts of the Goddess Test/Goddess Interrupted novels, that pique your interest in relation to these characters, then you can be sure everything will be revealed in The Goddess Legacy.

  1. I read the Goddess Legacy and I also reviewed it, and I thought it was pretty good, too. My favorite part was also Persephone's story! :) I love her name, it's so pretty, right?
