Storm - Brigid Kemmerer

"Earth, Fire, Air, Water – they have more power than you dream.

Ever since her ex-boyfriend spread those lies about her, Becca Chandler is suddenly getting all the guys—all the ones she doesn't want. Then she saves Chris Merrick from a beating in the school parking lot. Chris is different. Way different: he can control water—just like his brothers can control fire, wind, and earth. They’re powerful. Dangerous. Marked for death.

And now that she knows the truth, so is Becca.

Secrets are hard to keep when your life’s at stake. When Hunter, the mysterious new kid around school, turns up with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time, Becca thinks she can trust him. But then Hunter goes head-to-head with Chris, and Becca wonders who’s hiding the most dangerous truth of all.

The storm is coming . . ."

I have been putting off this review because I have been trying to figure out how to express so much awesome into one little post. Without using the words awesome, mind-blowing and hot brothers too much.

One night after a self-defense class at her school, Becca saves Chris from getting beaten to a pulp. From this night, she is propelled into, well a lot more than she bargained for. Chris can't get Becca out of his head, but her attentions all seem to be on Hunter. Plus he still has to deal with his brothers of course!

I really loved all the characters in this book! Becca is this strong courageous girl who can pretty much handle anything, even if she believes otherwise. I wanted very much to be her friend, all the while I want to steal Chris from her. She goes through so much, yet comes out so much stronger and wiser.

Chris is shy and sensitive but of course he would never show Becca that. The poor guy seems so confused through-out the whole book, and Becca certainly doesn't help!

The Merrick brothers are all so different, but that makes it interesting - you think you have them figured out but of course they have to surprise you. Then of course, there is Hunter - the sweet sensitive guy. I never really trusted him, but he made a wonderful addition to the story.

The plot line is so fantastic, it was a lot of fun to read! Ms Kemmerer made it so realistic, the way these teenage characters were acting and some of the things they were experiencing, and that made it all the more exciting. There was action and romance, but with the elemental twist it took this story to a whole other level.

The story was fantastic, it kept me enthralled the whole way through.

You can read my review of Spark, the sequel tomorrow!
