The Fault in Our Stars - John Green

"Diagnosed with Stage IV thyroid cancer at 13, Hazel was prepared to die until, at 14, a medical miracle shrunk the tumours in her lungs... for now.

Two years post-miracle, sixteen-year-old Hazel is post-everything else, too; post-high school, post-friends and post-normalcy. And even though she could live for a long time (whatever that means), Hazel lives tethered to an oxygen tank, the tumours tenuously kept at bay with a constant chemical assault.

Enter Augustus Waters. A match made at cancer kid support group, Augustus is gorgeous, in remission, and shockingly to her, interested in Hazel. Being with Augustus is both an unexpected destination and a long-needed journey, pushing Hazel to re-examine how sickness and health, life and death, will define her and the legacy that everyone leaves behind."

Augustus Waters, I wish dreams were like wishes, and wishes came true, cause in my dreams I'm always with you.

Yes. I have jumped on the Augustus fangirling bandwagon, it is true.

This story was painfully honest and absolutely heartbreaking. Every character in this story was so brave - accepting, dealing, moving on. Everyone told me this story was good, and while I didn't cry like I probably should have, this story really did touch me. The things you think you know about life, but really you have no idea. This story made me re-examine everything I hold dear and what it really means to LIVE.

So much love in and out of this story. So much. Truly gorgeous!

  1. I loved the Fault in Our Stars.

Honestly, Augustus isn't my favorite YA boy, but he's still pretty sweet. I just don't like him that much because he reminds me too much of myself, haha.

  3. Sounds like a heavy read that involves ice cream and a box of tissues to help with the after math lol

  5. I'm SO glad that you loved this one. I read this a month ago and it was so heartbreaking. Whilst it was sad, I didn't sob like I thought I would. A tear or two and that was it. It did touch me though, definitely. Oh and Augustus. <3 <3 <3
