Sequel September!

Since I started blogging six months ago, I haven't really had time to read any books I've bought. All of my reading time is dedicated to review books these days and it's never really bothered me before... Until now.

There are all these fantastic books sitting on my shelf, waiting to be read. But in particular, it's the sequels that have me longing to ditch the review books and cuddle up with something familiar. Especially when everyone else had read, reviewed and talked about what has happened in all these books.

I have decided to make it my mission, to get through as many of the sequels sitting in my shelf as possible, so I dub thee...

Sequel September!

It's time for me to put aside the review books and focus on catching up with all the characters I've been missing! Here are the books I am going to catch up on....

1 -  Rapture / Fallen in Love by Lauren Kate
(#4 / #3.5 Fallen series)

Many of you may know, this is book 4, the last book in the Fallen series! Fallen in Love isn't a sequel as such, but 4 novella's rolled into one book - I figure I may as well read this too!

2 -  Pandemonium / Hana by Lauren Oliver
( #2 / #1.5 Delirium series)

Yes. I know. Shocking right?! "It has a killer cliff-hanger ending" says everybody. "I can't wait for the next one" says everybody. Me? Well I think it's about time I read it, just so I know what everyone is talking about! Also figure I'd throw in the novella as well!

3 -  Hades / Heaven by Alexandra Adornetto
( #2 / #3 Halo series)

Now Heaven was released last month so I figured it's time to read Hades and then Heaven as well!

4 -  City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare
( #5 The Mortal Instruments series)

Now I am going to admit... I have actually been putting this one off on purpose. Don't get me wrong, I liked City of Fallen Angels. Just not as much as the first three books. I don't want to be disappointed in this one. But I think it is time to finally read it.

5 -  Fury by Rebecca Lim
( #4 Mercy series)

Huge lover of Angel books, as you might be able to tell. This is the last book in the series, I think I should finally read how it all ends!

6 -  Hidden by Sophie Jordan
( #3 Firelight series)

Okay so I haven't actually put this one off, since it is only being released this month, but I am dying to read it anyway so I thought I may as well put it on the list!

7 -  Until I Die by Amy Plum
( #2 Revenants series)

More Vincent? Yes please! No longer shall I put off his swoon!

8 -  Endlessly by Kiersten White
( #3 Paranormalcy series)

The third and final book in the Paranormalcy series, time to see how this one ends for Evie!

9 -  A Witch In Love by Ruth Warburton
( #2 Winter series)

I read enjoyed the first and can't wait to see where this one leads!

10 -  As dead as it gets by Katie Alender
( # Bad Girls Don't Die series)

I believe this is the last book in the series, and I can't believe Katie Alender has managed to write three books based around spirits and possessions! Can't wait to read her do it again!

Here are some upcoming sequels I am looking forward to reading!

So many amazing books out there...

Thanks for sticking around and wish me good luck for Sequel September!

  1. Such a great idea! I may have to make it a goal to read a couple sequels next month. I am so so so so behind there. Good luck with catching up on all those! :)

  2. Good luck! I still have yet to read Pandemonium and Insurgent. I think I'm like the only one who hasn't read Insurgent yet!

  3. This is a great idea. I need to do something like this too -- This would be a cool idea for a read-a-thon or Reading challenge (hint hint) :)

  4. I'm in exactly the same boat as you! I am planning on using October to read some of the books that I bought! I have loads and haven't managed to read any of them!
