Quintana of Charyn -
Melina Marchetta
Released: September 26, 2012
Publisher: Viking Australia

Synopsis: Separated from the girl he loves and has sworn to protect, Froi must travel through Charyn to search for Quintana, the mother of Charyn's unborn king, and protect her against those who will do anything to gain power. But what happens when loyalty to family and country conflict? When the forces marshalled in Charyn's war gather and threaten to involve the whole of the land, including Lumatere, only Froi can set things right, with the help of those he loves.

What it's about: We are back again with all our favourite (and of course our not so favourite) characters in the Lumatere Chronicles! We pick up almost as soon as we left off, reading about Froi's journey to find Quintana, Quintana's attempt to stay hidden and the rest that goes with it.

What I thought: Melina Marchetta continues to amaze me with her fantastic writing talent and Quintana of Charyn is no exception. Her ability to create a world and characters so beautiful and exciting, shines through again in this latest novel. Of course this is the final book in the trilogy and Marchetta does not disappoint. She manages to keep your attention, with all the action she throws out there, without it all being too much or too repetitive. This time we see from many different characters POV's so we can keep up with the happening all over the lands. If you have read and love Finnikin of the Rock and Froi of the Exiles then you will love Quintana of Charyn just as much. My next question is: Why isn't this being made into a movie already? Pick it up now producers!

the good: Everything. Absolutely everything. I would go into specifics, but really, you don't want to end up reading a novel now do you?!

the bad: This is the last book in the series! :'(
