Kick-ass Dystopian Characters!
So after a rather unfortunate incident involving a class called Advanced English and a movie called Blade Runner, I was turned off the dystopian genre! But none the less, a fantastic movie called The Hunger Games pulled me out of this, since then I have read a few dystopian reads and let me say don’t let one bad movie/book turn you off an awesome genre!
So I’m here to tell you some of my favourite Kick-Ass Dystopian Characters!
Name: Tris
Where is she from? The Divergent series by Veronica Roth
Why is she a Kick- Ass Character? After choosing Dauntless over Abnegation, Tris’s life has gone from being selfless to fighting, watching someone being attacked in their sleep & jumping off & onto trains. Tris however is special; she is Divergent, which makes her Kick-Ass when a certain someone tries to control all of the nations. Tris can hold her own; she is pretty good at throwing knives and can face her fears, which there are only seven of!
Name: Katniss Everdeen
Where is she from? The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins
Why is she a Kick-Ass Character? Volunteering as tribute in the hunger games to save her sister, makes her kick-ass, her skills with a bow are crazy good & the whole star-crossed lovers thing she has going on just adds to what Katniss has going on. With her strive to survive, her skills & selflessness that she has just makes her a kick-ass character.
Name: Four
Where is he from? The Divergent series by Veronica Roth
Why is he a Kick-Ass Character? How many people do you know that have just four fears? Well meet four (story behind the name), he is Divergent, he knows how to survive, his leadership qualities make it possible for him & his friends to do the impossible. If this doesn’t make a kick-ass character I don’t know what will!

Name: Alenna
Where is she from? The Forsaken by Lisa M Stasse
Why is she a Kick-Ass Character? After landing on the island called ‘the wheel’, Alenna changes from the scared, confused girl she was when she ended up on the wheel, to a strong, level headed leader who learnt the skills of a hunter to help out those on the island. With the help of Liam & Gadya she is able to do what most don’t believe in, finding a way out. Her transformation & the skills she picks up alone the way make her a kick-ass girl who wants to help out, even if she doesn’t know what she is doing.
