Cinder -
Marissa Meyer
Released: January 5, 2012
Publisher: Puffin
Synopsis: Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, the ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . .

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.

What it's about: A dystopian re-telling of the fairy-tale Cinderella.

What I thought: I know this one has already been out a year but I just had to tell everyone just how much I loved this book! I'd had it sitting around for a while, I just never got the chance to pick it up. So when I got sent a review copy of Scarlet, I figured it was time to finally give this book the love and attention it deserves. It really blew my mind. I devoured it in a whole day (and it's a good thing I had Scarlet to go straight on to!) and it left me desperately wanting more! I am a sucker for fairy-tale retellings and the way Marissa Meyer wrote this was just perfect. She gave the story a bit of a twist so it didn't feel like you were reading the same story just in a different setting.

I fell in love with Cinder and of course, most importantly, with Prince Kai. If you haven't gotten your grubby hands on this one yet, drop everything and do it now!

The Good: I loved the dystopian world that Marissa Meyer created! I always love discovering the next worlds that authors create and this one was no different!

The Bad: Nothing! Absolutely nothing to complain about!
