Breathless (Elemental #2.5) -
Brigid Kemmerer
Released: May, 2013
Publisher: Kensington Teen

Synopsis: Too many secrets. Not enough time.

Nick Merrick is supposed to be the level-headed one. The peacemaker. Since it’s just him and his three hotheaded brothers against the world, that’s a survival tactic.

But now he’s got problems even his brothers can’t help him survive.

His so-called girlfriend, Quinn, is going quick as mercury from daring to crazy. Meanwhile, Quinn’s dancer friend Adam is throwing Nick off balance, forcing him to recognize a truth he’d rather shove back into the dark.

He can feel it—-the atmosphere is sizzling. Danger is on the way. But whatever happens next, Nick is starting to find out that sometimes nothing you do can keep the peace.

What it's about: Nick Merrick's novella, filled with all things, well Nick. You got to love it.

What I thought: Brigid Kemmerer has this amazing ability to keep my attention one-hundred percent captured through all her books and novella's and Breathless was no different. Breathless is a novella that revolves around a night and day with Nick Merrick. It short but oh-so sweet. I always thought we never really had enough of Nick and now it's finally his turn, I just couldn't get enough. Things between Nick and Quinn are complicated, and Nick's feelings are all over the joint. He's been able to keep it hidden and at bay, until now. But all hell would break lose if his brothers knew the truth, the truth that Nick isn't even sure he can fully admit to himself.

Brigid Kemmerer gives us just a tasty teaser into all things Nick and it, like all her other books, will leave you clinging on for me

The Good: I thought Breathless had a really good twist / secret (or whatever you want to call it) that I totally didn't see coming. I mean, how could you?

The Bad: Nothing could ever be bad when it comes to the Merrick boys and their stories.
