I feel like I have had a bad run of books recently - and this one is another.
I LOVED the synopsis. I LOVED the cover. I did not love the book.
We get thrown into the action head first, and meet our main character Nikki. She is tough, she rides a motorcycle and she has had a normal upbringing. Where are your parent's Nikki? Please tell me why they are never around and also let you ride a motorcycle. Believable? Maybe.
Love triangles. I love them as much as the next person, if not more. But this one felt very forced, and I really wish Ms Burch hadn't put it in. Even the "insta-love" between Mace and Nikki would have sufficed just fine. But a love triangle between two brothers kind of grossed me out. Why oh why.
Angels. My favourite "fantasy" type. The Holocaust? Ermm, not so much. I love how Heather tried to be creative, taking an event and twisting it into something else - believe me, I actually love seeing how people do that! In this case, not so much.
I will be reading book two, to see if it can redeem this story.

Thanks for your review, sorry you didn't enjoy the book. It was a good book, but it's not for everyone. I was heartbroken by the ending, but I like your comment about reading Book 2 to see if things improve. Hope your next review is more enjoyable :)
