"Waiting On" Wednesday

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

For this week, I am eagerly anticipating -

Something Like Normal - Trish Doller
June 19, 2012

"When Travis returns home from a stint in Afghanistan, his parents are splitting up, his brother’s stolen his girlfriend and his car, and he’s haunted by nightmares of his best friend’s death. It’s not until Travis runs into Harper, a girl he’s had a rocky relationship with since middle school, that life actually starts looking up. And as he and Harper see more of each other, he begins to pick his way through the minefield of family problems and post-traumatic stress to the possibility of a life that might resemble normal again. Travis’s dry sense of humor, and incredible sense of honor, make him an irresistible and eminently lovable hero."

I don't read a lot of contemporary fiction but for this one I will have to make an exception in a big way. How amazing does this book sound? Plus I read this interview that had pictures to help visualise certain points in the book - it made my heart squeeze! Check out the pictures here - http://www.greadsbooks.com/2012/03/something-like-normal-interview.html

Can't wait! Can't wait!

What about you guys? What are you waiting on?

  2. *gulp* Those pictures are wonderful. I can't wait for this one either. I have a couple of books with this sort of theme (YA-Mature/returned from Afghanistan) coming up and I think I'd better stock up on Kleenex.

    Love your pick. :)
