So we have looked at Contemporary and Dystopian fiction, now it's time for Fantasy! To be honest, I don't think there are a lot of Young Adult books that are just fantasy and don't cross over with the paranormal. Or at least, I haven't found many.

Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta
Touch of Power by Maria V. Snyder
Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
These are the four series I believe fit perfectly into the fantasy category, and as it turns out, I love them all equally. Magic abounds, new worlds to explore and even some assassins too. Wish I could find more books like this!

Fantasy is a genre that uses magic and other supernatural phenomena as a primary element of plot, theme, and/or setting. Many works within the genre take place in imaginary worlds where magic is common.
