Hallowed - Cynthia Hand

"For months part-angel Clara Gardner trained to face the raging forest fire from her visions and rescue the alluring and mysterious Christian Prescott from the blaze. But nothing could prepare her for the fateful decisions she would be forced to make that day, or the startling revelation that her purpose—the task she was put on earth to accomplish—is not as straightforward as she thought.
Now, torn between her increasingly complicated feelings for Christian and her love for her boyfriend, Tucker, Clara struggles to make sense of what she was supposed to do the day of the fire. And, as she is drawn further into the world of part angels and the growing conflict between White Wings and Black Wings, Clara learns of the terrifying new reality that she must face: Someone close to her will die in a matter of months. With her future uncertain, the only thing Clara knows for sure is that the fire was just the beginning"
If you haven't read Unearthly yet, I suggest you don't read this review!!
Hallowed, the sequel to Unearthly. I have one word to describe it. Breathtaking! There are many more words, but I think that one is most fitting. I absolutely loved this sequel. Almost maybe as much as the first. Team Christian all the way!!
After ruining her "purpose" and falling in love with the wrong guy, getting spotting by a black wing, things can't possibly get much worse for Clara. However there are so many new things revealed in this book. Clara start having visions again, possibly a new purpose? Nope, just the future. Clara knows someone is going to die, so she goes about trying to figure out who it is.
Christian starts hanging out with Clara more, which is totally what I wanted, but totally not what Tucker wants. Samjeeza shows his face again, Clara finds that Wyoming is a major hot spot for part-angels and to top it all off, Clara see's her dad again and boy what a shock that is!
I could not put this book down, and the entire time I felt sucked into Clara's world, just like I had in Unearthly. Thank you Cynthia Hand for delivering such an amazing sequel! Bring on the third book - Untitled at the moment - which is set for release in 2013!
